I dedicate this piece to my friend Ka Mariano who gave me the idea to expound on this theory. What theory? That Christ in all probability come Judgment Day would arrive on a flying saucer with all his angels on smaller ones. I sense all of you starting to laugh but come on what’s wrong with giving Ka Mariano and yours truly our day in court. Hear us out 🙂
How does a prophecy take place? This is profoundly explained in the following article –
“If you were in a time machine, and you were projected forward into time, and saw great things, and you had to describe them in the language of your day, how would you describe them? Would you call some things “giant locusts,” “horses,” “chariots,” “stars,” “thrones,” and “lightening”?
This is what the apostle John did, and all the other prophets of the Bible, when they saw a glimpse of the modern world. They would describe the things they saw, but described them in the knowledge and the language of their day! But we will see in the Bible, that the prophets describe exactly the modern weapons that we posses today!
Notice John’s description of horses that he sees in vision,
‘And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.'(Rev 9:17). Out of the mouths of these horses comes out smoke and brimstone.
This is a perfect description of missiles rolling out of silos from mobile trucks and tanks.
John says this is their strength, ‘By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.” (Rev 9:18-19).’
‘And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle… And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.’
The sound of their wings sound like many horses and chariots rushing into battle. What else could they be? Anyone who has participated in a large air mobile operation can appreciate how the sound of the rotor blades fits this description
Automobiles are also mentioned in the bible. Nahum describes modern day chariots, with the language of his day as “the chariots shall be with flaming torches…The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings” (2:4). What other “chariots” go at unbelievable speeds?
Automobiles. The Bible is a book that describes conditions and modern inventions of our day!”
Now, let us discuss prophecies nearer to our hearts:
“The First World War was unlike any war in the past… This was the first war ‘in three dimensions,’ the first war in which cites ware bombed from the air and winged warriors fought among the clouds. Of course the airplanes of 1914 were not so fast, so formidable, nor so numerous as those of today. There were really more important as scouts ( a kind of aerial ‘cavalry’) … the British had invented the tank, or land battleship – an armored automobile which could move on rough ground because it was built like a tractor.” (World History, pp. 478-479)
Jeremiah 4:13 – Look! He advances like the clouds, his chariots come like a whirlwind, his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us! We are ruined!”
We allude the chariots to airplanes of 1914 and the whirlwind to tanks because it can “turn” like a whirlwind.
So taking this kind of thinking, it is not far-fetched that Christ was “beamed” up when he left this earth and could be coming back on a spaceship as Ka Mariano clearly explained. A dear friend also said that the gold we would be stepping on heaven are merely LED lights and the pearly gates leading into heaven are actually round doors inside a gigantic spaceship filled with lights.
Now, don’t forget that the actual size of heaven in its literal sense is also described in the bible. It was never meant to be co-existent with Never Never Land –
“What is the literal Size of Heaven?
Q. While studying the book of Revalation, I noticed in Rev 21:15 it gives the dimensions of heaven. If possible how does the size given relate to the way we measure things today. EX is it 1200 miles? I also heard it would be about the size of the Modern day U.S.
The measurement of the city described in Revelation chapters 21 and 22 is 12,000 furlongs. A furlong is 1/8 th of a mile. This makes the city about 1500 miles square, or 1500 miles in all directions. That is quite a large city. The total land area of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, is 3,717,796 sq miles. The literal land area of the city described in Revelation would be 2,250,000 sq miles. That would make the city a somewhat larger than 1/2 the size of the United States. In addition to that the wall of the city described in Revelation is 1500 miles high. That is an extremely high wall considering that most commercial airliners fly at an altitude of about 7 to 8 miles.” http://www.scripturessay.com/what-is-the-literal-size-of-heaven/
I once asked a minister why prophecies such as the coming of the Last Messenger of God Ka Felix Manalo or the Iglesia Ni Cristo is taught only after the prophecy is fulfilled. Of the many prophecies still declared in the bible, can’t we forecast what and when it would happen? For example, Judgment Day. When would that be? Our answers are all vague with respect to dates on particular events. Playing safe so to speak.
The minister clearly answered my query. “Paano kung may hinulaan tayo tapos hindi nangyari?” So every prophecy of the INC is in the past tense or natupad na. That’s the reason why when the King preaches –
The answer of the congregation is , “narinig ko na yan.” I have this notion that the pathwalk leading to that “pintuan” is a loooonnnnggg one 🙂 I’ve been with the Church for more than fifty years and that elusive “pintuan” has never been reached. Don’t get me wrong, Ka Mariano and I believe that Judgment Day is inevitable one way or the other.
Now whether you want to believe that Christ would come floating down together with his angels ala Jean Grey or Magneto and with the wave of his hand levitate to his side all of his children and with the snap of his fingers destroy everything else Thanos style, that is your choice.
Ka Mariano and I choose to believe the more plausible scenario – flying saucers and spaceships, and nuclear bombs as envisioned by our prophets from the first century 🙂
(It is the only time in our “Church era” that we can freely discuss our own versions of prophecies that no one else can explain. So why not discuss it and have a good time as well. Care to talk about the “virgin” Mary? How would you take it if someone told you that the love of your life was impregnated by a spirit? Next time, next time 🙂 🙂 🙂 )
