Today I share with you  two versions of Love and Thanksgiving as presented by Readthebook… and Mario.  Both share the sentiments of so many of us who long for the days of Truth, Love, and Compassion between brothers and sisters. Like abandoned children missing a father and mother’s embrace.

Regarding offerings in the Church of Christ…..

2 Corinthians 9:6-7 “whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

tithingI tested how I can do my offerings right in the sight of God and as much as I want to receive blessings back from God, I guess it is up to God. The above bible verse works for me. How do I know that? based on my own financial experiences. We have to carefully examine our experiences and make adjustments needed to make it work as long as we do not violate God’s will. Always pray for God’s conviction in our heart whether we are doing right or wrong. We can trust God to answer us.

What works is this…Be a cheerful giver. Even if someone can afford to give $1000.00/worship service but if there is a reservation or doubt, it is not pleasing to God. Thus, it is a waste of offering to God when it does not please Him at all. Of course, it would be pleasing to humans managing the offerings but we are not trying to please them, do we? Do you expect God to bless us abundantly when we give generously but we are not completely cheerful or we are just giving it for other motives (bribing God or humans because of sins committed)? Whether we give your offering to God sparingly and bountifully, it must be accompanied with thankfulness in our heart and we are happy with what we give because it does not burden us. However, you have to test this yourself on your own. Do not just do anything just because someone said so.

We all have different financial challenges and God knows all that. It is not a one fits all situation. We had given abundantly when we can, cheerfully at times sometimes reluctantly. We had offered fairly even when our finances is negative and we are in debt. There were times we voluntary forced ourselves to help the locale by offering to locale fund abundantly even when we do not have enough. I did not ease our finances from God’s blessings because why…we gave reluctantly, we forced ourselves. We did this out of necessity to give to locale fund. I realized why the officers, especially in the leadership, have to carry this burden on our own? Is it not the church a one body? Should not the church’s district office supposed to help us when we can not pay our rented hall? If it can be done, why the minister does not reassure the officers that we can get financial help from district or central? I came to my realization, why do I force myself to give more which causes my family financial hardship. It does not make sense. Then I would not be a cheerful giver.

tithing2I always believe sometimes bad things that happened can be a blessings or mercy in disguise. Maybe God sees too much money in the church corrupts the Administration. It seems like some ministers living comfortably financially than many brethren. God sees something He does not like. Maybe He does not like the business ventures planned by the church administration. However we can Trust God. He will take care of those church leaders who did not obey His will.

Currently, because of the upcoming Yearly Thanksgiving, many lessons will be about offerings. Did these lessons make you feel guilty to give more? They sound like they are intended to make us feel guilty or maybe we are just paranoid with any lessons’ motives lately. Remember if you “feel forced” to give more, it will not make your monetary thanksgiving worthy in the sight of God.

By the way…How come I do not hear this bible verse in the worship services anymore?

Mark 12:41-44New International Version (NIV)

41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.

43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

tithing3Brethren…Jesus wants us to make voluntary offerings from our hearts. Please do not offer at all if you are just dropping coins out of sarcasm. That is not good in the sight of God and our lord Jesus. Offer what your hearts desire with thankfulness even if it is one cent. Even if there is corruption. Don’t worry too much of those who steal money from God. It is for God to take care of that. But if you feel you can not offer without feeling sick in your stomach about it then is for you to decide. Pray about it. I can not blame you or judge you. Our church leaders offended us and they are accountable to God. Make God convicts us all. l pray and trust that God understands our hesitance to offer abundantly or none nowadays. I also pray that God’s mercy and forgiveness will be on all of us.

(From Mario)

This is one good article I’m posting copied from another site to share with you. Some of you might have already come across this, but I’m posting it for the benefit of the others. Thank you.“The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) being described here may not necessarily be the same as the original INC during the leadership of Bro. Felix Y. Manalo and Bro. Erdy Manalo. Many members claimed the current practices inside the Church of Christ has changed under the current administration, the reason why many bloggers like me exists today.
persecutedWhen The People of God Becomes The Persecutors History is trying to repeat itself inside a christian church. The inquisition in the Catholic church during the 12th century is an era of people (heresies) fighting what they believe is wrong doctrines inside the Catholic church. Catholic instituted inquisition to combat the heresies. In our modern times we live in the high technology society so we have new ways to fight for what we believe in.

If you have Facebook account, check “inc vs defenders”, one of the propaganda account by the INC of the One with EVM. Most likely you will see obscene words. You will see malicious and fabricated images of the mother, brothers and sister of the Executive Minister. Think for a moment, people who claim to be Christians and of God can do such things?

How a respected church which was established by Bro. Felix Y. Manalo in 1914 in the Philippines allowed such obscene words in public social website? How can members of the church fabricate images to own blood family of the Executive Minister? And why do Bro. Eduardo allowed such things and do not even bothered?

The answer is in the prayer inside the church worship. If you are member of the church it is likely that you heard in the worship services how ministers pray at the end of the homily which says like this in Filipino: “Supilin po ninyo ang lahat ng kumakalaban sa Iglesia” (English translation: “Persecute all who are fighting against the Church of Christ” or in a strongest Filipino to English translation: “Kill them all who are fighting against the Church of Christ”). This is how ministers under the rule of the Sanguniaan (Council officers of the INC) are molding and corrupting the minds of the members. One would think if such prayer is even acceptable to God.

The result of the prayers is the creations of propaganda accounts in Facebook.

Ministers, BEM (Bachelor of Evangelical Ministry) students, loyal officers and members joined forces to use their Facebook accounts (personal and dummy account) to fight the leftist members and those who have been expelled for exposing the corruptions and unchristian practices inside the church. The mission: counter attack using fabricated stories, images and videos.

How can a once a glorious church allow such criminal words in prayer?

It is very sad, shameful , unthinkable that the church officials are capable of heinous act. The wife of Bro. Rowell Menorca, Jinky Menorca”, exposed the following words of a high ranking minister, Bro. Ernesto Mabasa: “Bubuhayin pa ba kayo ng Pangangasiwa?”. (English translation: Will the church administration keep you alive?”) . Can you imagine a minister of God can utter those words to a fellow minister? I refuse to respect such a man who speak murderous words! If that happened in California, Bro. Ernesto can be charged with criminal threat, punishable for jail term. How can church officials simply ignore those criminal words as if nothing has been said?

Blood of Bro. Eduardo’s blood, he is allowing members to persecute his own mother, brothers and sister in a social websites. Where is the love of your own mother? Where is the love for your own brother and sister?

blessedKilling them softly

Why is Bro. Angel Manalo and family, Sis. Lottie Hernandez and family and their house helpers can’t leave 36 Tandang Sora residence? Well, for one thing the land is owned by Sis. Lottie and her late husband, Bro. Edward Hernandez (read here how INC falsified documents to own the property). The INC continue to persecute people who live in that address by blocking the gate, depriving them with electricity and harassing people who deliver food supplies to them. Imagine how they are living without electricity? Imagine how they are surviving with limited food? If I am not mistaken Bro. Angel has two children and Sis. Lottie has two children, all living together without going to school afraid of being abducted by the Sangunian.

I pray to God the people of 36 Tandang Sora will endure the hardship. One day, sooner than later, they will be happy once again, living a life as a free human being without fear of their life.

Lastly, I would like to quote this from the bible. Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you.”
