truth

Here are some strong thoughts from one Dan Browne – a third generation member. Bible verses were mentioned to support his faith.  Personally, I refrain from using verses particularly those outside our regular doctrinal beliefs.  Verses pointing to new beliefs can only become official once it is taught during the pagsamba.  The only person authorized to interpret bible verses correctly is the Sugo. In his demise, this authority is passed on to his successor.  But unfortunately, the current successor it appears has relinquished that right and can no longer interpret God’s words in accordance with His true teachings. So the verse mentioned in the following article represents a personal belief incidentally of not only one individual but so many out there. The faith that God will not abandon His children and ultimately restore His Church as He has so clearly declared.

Here’s my reflection/analysis on the current issues facing the church. Hope this reaches you and most importantly to the many brethren supporters of your blog. Part of this is probably a reflection of the many layman members not holding any position in the church like me. Thank you in advance.

“See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. 6 He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”

 – Malachi 4:5-6

I am only a layman INC member, I admit, however I am an active churchgoer-a prayerful one indeed, always asking for God’s guidance whatever I do and whenever I feel lonely. I am a late-20-yr-old law abiding layman member, as they say, since birth (handog) and my family is a three generation members of the church. In fact, my grandparents are the pioneers of our local congregation that I can say our family emblem is already embedded on the history and roots of our local.

However, with all this fiasco happening with the church, I myself, my spirit and my faith have been thoroughly shaken. I must say, three generations of believers and a 20-plus years of religious adherence to the church administration might be not enough (for me) to stand a test like this, the flesh is weak, and this is the modern era where religion is something obscure or becoming a myth. I started to ask myself this:

“Is this really the true church that the Lord Jesus Christ has established? Ito ba talaga ang tunay na sa Diyos? Sapagkat paano na-aatim ng mga nakatataas na magnakaw at magsawalang kibo sa talamak na kasamaan sa loob ng Iglesia?”

This is probably the question lingering with all the lay members of the church today. I started to put doubt on my beliefs. I started to feel weak, I questioned my soul, I feel lost. The church, which my family has been so consumed for generations and which I ceremoniously upheld (to the point that my love life has suffered) and politely defend (even against my best friends) has been the reason of let down. Are all the efforts of my family and myself in vain? I can hear them all laughing at me now. “Tinutuligsa ng inyong mga ministro ang aming paniniwala gayong sa inyo mismong mga nakatataas ang mga tiwali. Paano nyo pa ako mahihikayat umanib sa inyo?”  My friend told me and sadly I just shrugged.

For a moment I started to become agnostic, going to church only for attendance just so the katiwala won’t bug me. But the Lord is very patient and kind for He never left me. Every time I turn away from Him I can hear a small voice saying “don’t give up my child”. So I meditate and contemplate and started to realize everything happening is with a higher purpose. In life there is no such thing as ‘deus ex machina’ – an unexpected power or event saving a seemingly hopeless situation, especially as a contrived plot device in a play or novel. Everything happens for a reason. We must act, we must believe in Him, we must pray.

So “Is this the true church that the Lord Jesus Christ has established?” The answer is YES, a big YES. Notice that all that has happened are on the same exact dates that are significant to the church? Look, ka Tenny and ka Angel’s video appeared at the same time that we will celebrate the 101 yr milestone of INC. The rally in EDSA coincides with the 6th death anniversary of ka Erdy. God doesn’t play dice; He doesn’t play chances nor ‘deus ex machina’. I have faith that He has this majestic plan for His church.

But why did He allow this to happen? I believe that these are the obvious reasons:

–   To cleanse the church from impurities. As a lay member I didn’t know all of this is happening until it was exposed. Thank God for people like you ka William that I and my family have been so well informed and by the graces of God won’t be any more victims of these cohorts.

–    To shake and test ALL the brethren’s faith. He will trim down all who are faithless to Him so let us all strive to firmly uphold our faith even if our very own TP is pushing us through the limit (he, of all people L). Many will grow weak, and those who are not seeded with the right faith shall be led astray.

–    To test who will stand up for what is right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is only for those who are righteous and brave.

–    To test the new converts or converts-to-be if they have been really seeded with the right kind of faith or they are just members for selfish purpose. I doubt that after all these fiasco we can harness more true-to-the-teaching converts. Only those who will open up and wholeheartedly understand the doctrines will surely be called within the church by now.

–    THE END IS REALLY NEAR, for real and this is not just a figure of speech. The devil has successfully infiltrated not just the church but the core of it. We are on the final phase of the prophecy.

So what shall we do? Uphold the faith! Let us wait for our modern day Elijah, for he will restore what is right and bring back the church from its glory before the Lord Jesus Christ comes.

“See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. 6 He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”

 – Malachi 4:5-6

Hold on to the faith my dear brothers and sisters even if all seem lost, dire and bleak. The prophecy is for these last days. We are heading on a bumpier ride, a tribulation, a war. And like any war, only few will survive. Let us fight in the name of Jesus, we are one with Christ!

“As to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we beg you, brothers and sisters, not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as though from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord is already hereLet no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one destined for destruction. He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God.”

God bless us all,
